What is Happiness? Well, at the time of picking up this book to review, it was something that remained elusive to me. Feeling that happiness was something that I was never going to obtain, always a grasp away, or even a million miles away depending on my thought process at the time.
Being primed by a previous book I reviewed, I had an idea of what “being in the moment” was all about, and a temporary happiness would enthuse me, but it was short lived. I guess my mind could not fully grapple with the concept fully – until I read “Happiness Now” by Robert Holden.
Upon reading the first chapter of the book, I found it very hard going. Robert is clearly a religious man, and there are many references to God, which instantly put me off. However, I am glad that my responsibility to review the book, pushed me through those first difficult pages and it did become easier to read.
Robert then caught me with a hook of interest and I started to resonate and relate. The book opened up for me like a flower, exposing its inner contents and reflecting my inner truths and expanding on them with wisdom and stories that hit a home score.
There are no exercises in the book on how to be happy (refreshing change) but every chapter is thought provoking, leaving you uplifted and with a self-realisation that there are no excuses to feel unhappy anymore. It changed my perception that’s for sure and left me with the ultimate gift, understanding of what happiness actually is and where I could find it.
This book is an asset. I thoroughly recommend “Happiness Now: Timeless Wisdom for feeling good fast” to all those who are in search of happiness. I am even looking forward to his new book – “Shift Happens”!
