I was asked to review 'A Sealed Fate' by Author Lisa Gordon.
Now I am not really into fiction books per say but when asked to do a review I always give it a bash, especially as I was told that this particular fiction book had a spiritual theme.
I was captivated immediately, as the main character lives in Cape Town and in an area I have frequented in the past. The author describes this impeccably, you are instantly transported there and start to discover the main character; who's fight for every day survival after a break up with a former partner, soon takes a dramatic turn to very unusual life choices, love, friendship and skullduggery!
As the title of the book suggests you soon realise it's a thriller with a spiritual twist, morality and metaphysical means are interwoven giving the reader an added bonus if they are that way inclined. I certainly found it a welcoming addition to a fiction book... I thoroughly enjoyed it!
All in all this book is very well written from beginning to end, captivating and is an a easy flowing read. Although, my only gripe were the two main characters names, which were both unusual and I became a little confused at times but that's just probably me...
As someone else suggested on a review elsewhere it would be great for taking on holiday and I totally agree!
Lisa Gordon is certainly talented and I can't wait for her to write another, whether a sequel or along similar lines and definitely gets the thumbs up!
