So, if you choose happiness, you can start today, it's a frame of mind, which takes practice that's for sure, but achievable.
Finding it hard to be happy then tell us about it, and maybe the group can guide you to your inner happiness!

I think you hit it on the head there Lifesoulvision...influences is a major factor.
I was one of those people that was influenced by those around me, and always fell pray to the events that followed.
I find now I break away and steer away from people who continue to wallow (and refuse to hear) in their circumstances (a painful reminder) as they seem to perpetuate them and like a vicious cycle are drawn back in (as I did many times). Most are not willing to look at themselves and see that there is a way to break the cycle and it starts with you, not anyone or something outside of you.
I did (and I continue to learn every day), I am fortunate and I don't wear rose tinted glasses and am all blissed up all the time, there are many times life throws a curve ball and one can easily fall back into an old mode...but I find stepping out of it and seeing what actually is occurring rather than what I perceive based on past experiences helps me to get a reality check so to speak, and within a short time I can regain those happy feelings and problems fade away rather than become a monster to torment me. :)

Absolutely the choice is ours, for some its not as easy as others due to life influences, but always there is the choice to hope. If we give up on being happy our lives will be lesser for it, and life is so precious we should always give it the best shot -
