Star Gazing Poem

As I stroll down the moonlit path my eyes stray upwards towards the stars
I would love to fly high like the eagle and venture out amongst the stars
To see beyond what we can see and venture out beyond to see pastures new
But I know for now that I am earthbound so satisfy myself with the view

As we reach out for the stars in the quiet and still deep velvet of the night
A deep longing grows inside of us to reach our moonbeams and swing on high
In the quiet stillness of the night air there is a warmth within the silence
Within this quiet time within the dark night I connect with my inner guidance

I allow my mind to wander, allow the gentle hints and messages of the night
To emblaze and fill my inner being and guide me to what I need to do that's right
A nocturnal child, I'm used to embracing the quiet of the night and have time alone
Just like the stars are bold and strong; I have found an inner strength that I now own

The midnight hour in the deep of winter is my favourite time for gazing at the stars
The dark cool winter skies show starry nights so clear they help bring clarity from afar
Just like the wise and ancient ones before me who understood the importance of our skies
A nightly heavenly gift for us to share, along with the beauty of when our moon does rise
